Join Sisters Trails Alliance for an evening at Caldera September 15!
A Summertime Fundraiser to benefit Sisters Trails Alliance
Sisters Trails Alliance has partnered with the US Forest Service, K Media Films & Timber Reel Productions and Caldera to offer a screening of the film "Follow the Beaten Path", a documentary that explores the delicate balance of non-motorized recreation and conservation in Central Oregon’s National Forests as the community is increasingly drawn to the great outdoors. The conversation about balancing land/wildlife conservation and outdoor recreation has been on-going for decades, but in the 21st century the popularity of outdoor activity is on the rise which makes this conversation as important as ever if we want to continue to experience the beauty mother nature has to offer. The film was created with funding support from the Oregon Wildlife Foundation, Back Country Hunters and Anglers, and Oregon Hunters Association.
A reception with light appetizers and drinks will begin at 5:30 pm at Caldera Arts Campus, 31500 Blue Lake Drive, east of Suttle Lake. Celebrating its 30th year, Caldera is a nonprofit whose mission is to inspire and support youth from underserved urban and rural communities by awakening the potential of their creative voice. Founded in 1996 by Dan Wieden and his family, Caldera has engaged over 15,000 youth through an award-winning, seven-year cohort model that includes an immersive summer program, school and community partnerships, residencies, and performances. An optional tour of the Caldera Arts Center campus will begin at 5:45 pm.
Screening of the hour long film Follow the Beaten Path will begin at 6:30 pm followed by a Q&A panel with Forest Service personnel. Tickets for the evening are $15 per person and can be purchased at the door or online here.
