Dream it. Build it. Maintain it.

Dream it.
Thinking about the future of trails, STA takes the long view. Maps, compass, local, regional and county maps, laying one over the other, with a close eye at work. We look at habitat impacts, flora and fuana, among other considerations as we dream up the next trail.

Build it.
Building new trails takes time. It takes money, volunteers, deep expertise, and thoughtful study. While STA builds very few trails, it is a big part of who we are. The Peterson Ridge Trail System was built by thousands of hours of volunteer hours and we are always looking at new trail opportunities to ensure great connectivity and recreational opportunities for ALL.

Maintain it.
Equally important to building new trails is maintaining the existing trails in our network. Sustainability comes from world-class stewardship. Thanks to hundreds of volunteers who conduct trail work throughout the season, STA maintains its trail system to the highest possible standard.
